What is this?
We're a group of people who want to:

focus on including people who don't usually get opportunities to build or who may not feel confident in a build environment. We're especially open to complete beginners and people who want to support beginners to gain confidence in this area that will last their entire lives.

build awesome stuff. It may or may not work. (We'll fix it tomorrow.)

We launched with Burning Nest* 2022 and have an eye to creating some awesome shit at Nest 2023, but we have an active calendar of fundraisers, socials, workshops and projects throughout the year and are up for taking BuildyMcBuildFace to other Burns, festivals and events. Come along for any or all of the ride. We're a friendly bunch, mostly based in the UK.

What Is...
*Build is the part of a festival where you build... the festival. It includes integral structural stuff like stages, plumbing, sound systems and the like, but also includes fuckoff art installations, funiture, hippie traps and anything else you need a tool to construct. It includes a huge range of skills from your home DIY to professional construction techniques.

*Burning Nest is a 5+ day event happening end of May most years. It's co-created - which means everything is created by the community and YOU'RE invited.

Co-creation often happens in groups - AKA Camps - and BuildyMcBuildFace is just one such a camp/collective.
